Third School Term Ends Tomorrow; Schools Reopen September 7

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education has announced the schedule for the conclusion of the first phase of the third school term and the commencement of the second phase for government and government-approved private schools in 2026.

According to the Ministry, the first phase of the third school term for schools will conclude on Friday, August 7, 2026. For Muslim schools, the first phase of the term will conclude on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

The second phase of the third school term for all schools will commence on Monday, September 7, 2026, and continue until Friday, December 4, 2026.

Meanwhile, the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination is scheduled to be held from August 10 to September 5, 2026.
