12-Hour Water Cut for Several Areas in Kandy Today (02)

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Kandy Municipal Council has announced that the supply of water will be suspended for 12 hours today, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, across several areas in Kandy.

The interruption is due to urgent electrical maintenance work at the Getambe Water Treatment Plant, which belongs to the Kandy Municipal Council.

The affected areas include Dangolla, Medabowala, Sarasavi Uyana, Getambe, Dodamwela, Aniwatte, Bahirawakanda, Asgiriya, Bogambara, Rajapihilla, Ampitiya, Peiriswatta, Boowelikada, Thalwatta, Lewella, Mulgampola, Kandy Town Center, Katukele, Deyyannewela, Suduhumpola, Heerasagala, Hanthana, as well as areas in Gurudeniya and Ampitiya where water supplied by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.

The Municipal Commissioner of the Kandy Municipal Council has advised the residents living in these areas to store sufficient water in advance due to the temporary supply disruption.
