'A Nation United' Operation Seizes Drugs Worth Over Rs. 102 Billion

COLOMBO (News 1st); According to the police, 2,253 kilograms and 834 grams of heroin have been seized within 9 months through 'A nation United' Operation

The police said that its value is 49,584 million rupees.

The quantity of Ice (methamphetamine) seized during that period is 2,640 kilograms and 695 grams.

Its value stands at 42,251 million rupees.

The amount of cocaine seized by the police within 9 months through the 'A nation United' Operation is 293 kilograms and 732 grams.

The police said that its value is 10,221 million rupees.

Meanwhile, police reported that 743 children were arrested in possession of narcotic pills within 9 months.

The police stated that 7,866 youths were arrested with narcotic pills during the relevant period.

Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler, said that 3.6 million narcotic pills were taken into police custody within 9 months through the 'A nation United' Operation
