Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo to Retire Today

COLOMBO (News 1st)-

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo is set to retire from his post as Commander of the Sri Lanka Army today, concluding his tenure as Sri Lanka's 25th Army Commander.

With his retirement, a new Commander of the Sri Lanka Army is expected to be appointed.

Lieutenant General Rodrigo assumed office as Army Commander on 30 December 2024.

An alumnus of St. Benedict's College, Colombo, he began his military career by joining the Sri Lanka Army Regular Force as a Cadet Officer on 20 January 1989.
