Ministry of Labour to Introduce New Regulations After Homagama Fire

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Labour states that steps are being taken to formulate a set of regulations to address sudden disasters occurring in factories.

Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe says that this decision was made based on the incident where 05 employees died due to the fire that broke out recently at a helmet manufacturing factory in Homagama.

The Deputy Minister further added that discussions have already been held with the Fire Services Department and the Urban Development Authority in order to formulate these regulations.
