Dengue Cases Cross 72,000 in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st): A total of 72,430 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka so far this year.

The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) said that 1,195 new dengue cases were reported across the country in the past 24 hours. 

The highest number of cases continues to be reported from the Gampaha and Colombo districts.

In the first 15 days of this month alone, 17,051 dengue cases have been recorded nationwide.

The NDCU also stated that 175 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions across the island continue to be designated as high-risk dengue zones.

Meanwhile, the dengue death toll has risen to 49.
