COLOMBO (News 1st) - Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala says that more than ten tons of drugs have been seized since the launch of the 'A Nation United' national mission.
He made this statement while attending the Kandy District Progress Review Programme.
The Minister said that since the operation began on October 30 last year, police have seized over 2,100 kilograms of ICE and 1,950 kilograms of heroin.
He further stated that around 5,800 kilograms of cannabis have also been seized so far.
In addition, over 280 kilograms of cocaine and more than 1.7 million narcotic pills have been recovered during the operation.
