COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Irrigation says the water level of the Kuda Ganga, a tributary of the Kalu Ganga, has risen due to the prevailing heavy rainfall, prompting cautionary warnings.
Chief Engineer of the Hydrology and Disaster Management Division, Chamara Yapa Arachchi, urged residents living on either sides of the river to remain alert.
He further noted that water levels in the Kelani, Nilwala, and Gin rivers, as well as the Attanagalu Oya, are also on the rise.
