Santosh Jha, Ali Sabry Discuss India-Sri Lanka Ties

COLOMBO (News 1st); India’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha met with former Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Sabry, PC, this week.

The discussions focused on key aspects of bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on the increasing trust and goodwill shared between India and Sri Lanka.

Both sides acknowledged the steady progress achieved through the partnership and reiterated their shared commitment to advancing mutual interests for the benefit of the people of both countries.

In a statement following the meeting, Ali Sabry described the discussions as productive and wide-ranging, reflecting on the importance of sustained engagement between the two nations.

“Had a very good discussion with H.E. High Commissioner Santosh Jha today on many important aspects of the India–Sri Lanka partnership,” Sabry said.

“It is heartening to see the growing trust and goodwill between our two countries. Our partnership has delivered meaningful benefits to our peoples, and I am confident it will continue to strengthen in the years ahead,” he stated.

The former Minister also expressed optimism about the future trajectory of the bilateral relationship, highlighting the potential for enhanced cooperation.
