Construction of Rambukkana - Galagedara Section of The Central Expressway To Begin Tomorrow (29)

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Construction of the Rambukkana Galagedara section under the second phase of the third segment of the Central Expressway is scheduled to commence tomorrow (29).

The project will be launched under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Anuradha Hettiarachchi, Director General of the Road Development Authority said the Rambukkana Galagedara section spans across a distance of 18.7 kilometres.

He added that construction work on the first phase is underway and is expected to be completed by mid next year.

Under the first phase, Rs. 78 billion has been allocated for the construction from Pothuhera to Rambukkana, while Rs. 112.4 billion will be spent on the Rambukkana to Galagedara section under the second phase.

All funding for the project will be sourced locally and implemented through local contracting companies using domestic financial resources.
