Coal Probe Statement Recording to Begin Next Week

COLOMBO (News 1st): Plans are underway to commence the recording of statements next week regarding the complaints received by the Presidential Commission appointed to investigate coal transactions.

The number of complaints received by the Commission is 28.

The Commission further stated that the recording of statements from officials of the institutions involved in the coal transactions is ongoing.

Accordingly, statements will be recorded from officials of the Coal Company, the Lakvijaya Power Plant, as well as the Ministry of Energy.

The open hearing of evidence by the Presidential Commission appointed to investigate coal transactions is also scheduled to commence shortly.
