Pen-Shaped Firearm Discovered in CID Operation

COLOMBO (News 1st); A firearm designed in the shape of a pen, believed to be commonly used in targeted assassinations, has been discovered during an operation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department. 

The weapon was recovered based on information obtained during the questioning of a suspect alleged to have operated multiple organized crimes in the Southern Province. The suspect had been brought back to Sri Lanka after staying overseas.

Police stated that the firearm was found carefully concealed in the possession of an individual in the Weligama area.

Authorities further noted that in recent times, several organized crime figures who had been abroad were brought back to the country. Based on information uncovered through their interrogations, police have managed to seize a number of illegal items, including drugs and firearms.
