Unsafe Water Sources Reported in Deniyaya, 50 Infected with Viral Illness

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Water sources supplying water to Deniyaya town and schools have been reported unsafe. 

Director of Health Services for the Southern Province, Dr. N.G.S. Panditharathna, stated that a team of specialist doctors assigned to investigate the viral illness spreading in the area confirmed this.

Accordingly, steps have been taken to chlorinate the relevant water sources, he said.

Dr. N.G.S. Panditharathna, further stated that 50 patients infected with the spreading viral fever have been reported.
