TID Questions Gammanpila For Almost Four Hours

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Police Terrorism Investigation Division questioned former Minister Udaya Gammanpila in connection with a public statement he made regarding the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.

He was questioned for nearly four hours, during which his statement was recorded by investigators.

Udaya Gammanpila Gammanpila appeared before the Terrorism Investigation Division at around 11.00 a.m. today, in response to a summons issued by the unit.

The investigation relates to a public statement made by Gammanpila on April 21, in which he claimed that suspects linked to the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks had not been arrested.

In that statement, Gammanpila specifically alleged that certain individuals who had received specialized training had neither been arrested nor rehabilitated.

After nearly four hours of questioning and the recording of his statement, Gammanpila left the premises of the Terrorism Investigation Division.
