Suspect Arrested at BIA with Hashish Valued at Over Rs. 47 Million

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A suspect was arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake by officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau with a stock of hashish valued at Rs. 47.78 million.
The suspect is a 24-year-old sales assistant residing in Grandpass, Colombo.
The suspect had arrived at BIA from Bangkok, Thailand.
Police recovered 4 kilograms and 778 grams of hashish inside 15 packages concealed as chocolates in his luggage.
The suspect will be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court.
