COLOMBO (News 1st); The Pakistan Navy has rendered assistance to the Indian and Indonesian crew of a stranded vessel in the Arabian Sea.
According to the Pakistan Navy, multi-purpose offshore vessel MV GAUTAM, operating in the Arabian Sea, issued a distress call after suffering a critical technical failure while traveling from Oman to India.
The vessel was carrying seven crew members, including six Indian nationals and one Indonesian national, and was left stranded at sea following the malfunction.
The distress alert was received from the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai, prompting an immediate response from the Pakistan Navy in coordination with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA).
Utilizing its maritime surveillance and response capabilities, the Pakistan Navy ensured the rapid deployment of PMSA ship KASHMIR to the location of the distressed vessel.
The deployed ship rendered assistance by providing food, medical aid and other essential supplies to the crew, along with technical support to help restore critical onboard systems.
