Navy Crackdown On Illegal Fishing: 77 Arrested, 17 Dinghies Seized

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Sri Lanka Navy has arrested 77 individuals engaged in illegal fishing activities, and seized 17 dinghies, during search operations conducted from April 17th to 30th.

Sri Lanka Navy personnel also seized sea cucumbers, commercial explosives, prohibited fishing gear, and six tractors.

The suspects have been handed over to Fisheries Offices in Kokkilai, Mullaitivu, Jaffna, Valachchenai, Kuchchaveli, Silavathurai, and Kinniya for further legal action.
