Automated Expressway Payment System to be Launched by Year-End to Ease Congestion

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Transport and Highways has announced that automated payment systems for expressways will be implemented before the end of this year.

Sumudu Rathnayaka, an advisor to the Ministry, noted that the procurement process for this project will take place within the next few weeks. 

He further stated that the introduction of an automated payment system will help minimise traffic congestion at expressway toll gates and provide a more efficient service to the public.
