Motor Traffic Commissioner General Remanded Until April 20

COLOMBO (News 1st); Motor Traffic Commissioner General Kamal Amarasinghe has been remanded until the 20th of this month after being produced before the Kurunegala Pilessa Magistrate’s Court today.

The order was issued following submissions made by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), who informed court that investigations into the case are still ongoing.

CID officials also objected to granting bail, citing the unfinished nature of the investigation.

The Commissioner General faces allegations of conspiring to fraudulently assemble a motor vehicle and aiding and abetting the process, according to court proceedings.
