Train Services Resume on the Northern Line Between Colombo Fort and Kankesanturai

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Railways has announced that train services on the Northern Railway Line between Colombo Fort and Kankesanturai (KKS) will resume starting today.

Officials confirmed that the extensive reconstruction work on the railway track following cyclone DItwah has been successfully completed. 

The line had previously sustained severe damage due Cyclone Ditwah. 

For the convenience of passengers, seat reservation facilities have been made available from Mount Lavinia to KKS departing at 5:15 AM and KKS to Mount Lavinia departing at 1:05 PM.
