Over 153 Phone Numbers Probed Over Fuel QR Code Abuse

COLOMBO (News 1st):Investigations have been launched into 153 mobile phone numbers suspected of misusing the QR code system to obtain fuel.

Speaking at a media briefing held this morning at the Department of Government Information, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said that ongoing police raids are being conducted to identify individuals who are illegally storing fuel.

Meanwhile, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) reported that 1,511,400 liters of fuel were distributed to filling stations today.

The CPC added that the fuel stocks were released via the Kolonnawa and Sapugaskanda terminals.
