COLOMBO (News 1st) -The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) says that shipping lines have requested to offload containers destined for the Middle East at Sri Lankan ports.
The Chairman of the SLPA, Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake, says that discussions regarding the matter are underway.
However he noted that for permission to be granted, the relevant companies must submit a clear plan to the country outlining the specific dates by which they will remove those containers from Sri Lanka.
