COLOMBO (News 1st); Litro Gas Lanka has announced that the temporary shortage of LP gas cylinders experienced in the market has now been stabilised, assuring the public that there is no need for panic buying.
In an official statement, the company said the supply constraint resulted from an unexpected surge in market demand, combined with a two‑day gas supply interruption on 14th February 2026. Litro stated that immediate measures have been implemented to restore regular distribution.
According to the company, 284,000 domestic refill cylinders were released to the market on 17th and 18th February 2026, with an additional 351,000 cylinders scheduled to be issued from 19th February to Saturday.
Litro also confirmed that adequate orders have already been placed, with three shipments expected to arrive before the end of the month to further strengthen supply levels.
The company emphasised that, with these measures in place, there will be no shortage of gas in the future.
