Significant Staff Shortage Reported in SLTB, Officials to Re-Evaluate Employee Qualifications

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has decided to re-examine the qualifications of its employees before handing over official positions and promotions.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways, Prasanna Gunasena, announced that this verification process is set to commence tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister highlighted a severe shortage of drivers and conductors within the SLTB.

The labor deficit has significantly impacted public transportation, leading to an operational impact of over 350 buses unable to operate daily.
