Shovel Assault Video Sparks Police Probe - Suspects Identified

COLOMBO (News 1st); An investigation has been launched regarding an incident in which a person was assaulted with a shovel.

The inquiry is being conducted by the Welikada Police, after a video of the incident went viral online.

Police Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wootler, stated that the suspects involved in the incident have now been identified.

They are residents of Borella and Horana.

The Police Spokesperson added that they were identified after examining the vehicle numbers visible in the video.

He further stated that the assault incident had occurred two months ago.
