Government to Modernize 25 Technical Colleges

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The government has decided to modernize 25 technical colleges across the country.

The decision was made during a special discussion held at Parliament under the patronage of Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, along with Deputy Minister of Vocational Education Nalin Hewage.

The modernization plans will focus not only on enhancing vocational training but also on supporting the mental health and overall welfare of the youth community.

Deputy Minister Nalin Hewage stated that development work at 23 technical colleges can begin very soon, aiming to build the human resources needed for national development. 

He also expressed hope to receive labor support from the Tri-Forces for these construction and modernization activities.
