Gammadda Care & Dare reaches Nuwara Eliya, supporting communities hit by Cyclone Ditwah

COLOMBO(News 1st) -Today, another phase of Gammadda Care & Dare initative took place in the Nuwara Eliya District, focused on rebuilding and supporting communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

The first phase of the Gammadda Care & Dare operation was launched in Kotmale.

The second phase followed in the Badulla District, focusing on Passara, Madolsima, and Welimada.

Through the Care & Dare initiative, introduced to uplift communities, thousands of people have already received much-needed support and assistance.

From today, the program is being carried out over two days in the Nuwara Eliya District.

Today’s program was held at Nildandhahinna Sumangala National School.

Today, a wide range of services were provided to the public, including legal advice, re-issuance of lost National Identity Cards and missing documents, vocational guidance, psychological counseling, and the distribution of essential food items.

The Gammadda team, led by Yasarath Kamalsiri, CEO of MTV Channel Pvt. Ltd., and Deputy Leader of Gammadda, joined the operation today as well. 

They were accompanied by several distinguished guests including Principal A.M.K.B. Attanayake of Nildandhahinna Sumangala National School, Additional District Secretary of Nuwara Eliya Shanika Lindakumbura, Divisional Secretary of Nildandhahinna Pradeepika Weerasuriya, Assistant Divisional Secretary of Walapane Punyakumari Suraweera, and Chief Inspector of the Walapane Police, Anil Jayasinghe along with many other invitees.

The Gammadda Care & Dare program will continue tomorrow at Kurunduwatte Royal College, Gampola serving the local community.
