Postponed GCE A/L Examination Resumes Today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The remaining subjects of the 2025 GCE Advanced Level Examination, which were postponed due to Cyclone Ditwah, will commence today. 

Commissioner General of Examinations, Indika Kumari Liyanage, stated that the examination will be conducted at 2,086 examination centres across the island and will continue until the 20th of January. 

Candidates have been instructed to report to their respective examination centres at least one hour before the scheduled starting time. 

The Commissioner General also explained the special procedures in place for candidates whose national identity cards were destroyed as a result of the disaster.

In addition, candidates whose school uniforms were damaged or lost due to the disaster will be permitted to sit the examination in suitable, comfortable clothing.

The 2025 GCE Advanced Level Examination was originally scheduled to be held from November 10 to December 5 but was postponed following the adverse weather conditions caused by Cyclone Ditwah.
