COLOMBO (News 1st): The first plane carrying aid supplies donated by the Chinese government for those affected by the disaster has arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.
The China Airlines cargo flight from Shanghai, China, brought a consignment of life jackets, tents, blankets, and bed sheets weighing 84,525 kilograms.
The aid is valued at Rs. 400 million.
Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilake, Deputy Minister of Defense Aruna Jayasekara, and Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong were present at the airport.
