Cabinet Approves Rs.50 Billion to Tackle National Crisis

COLOMBO (News 1st); A supplementary estimate of Rs.50 billion was presented to Parliament yesterday to allocate the necessary provisions for overcoming the national crisis triggered by the recent emergency disaster situation.

Minister of Housing, Dr. Susil Ranasinghe, says, the relevant Cabinet approval for this was granted at a special Cabinet meeting held yesterday.

The minister added that Rs.20 billion has been allocated for development relief and Rs.30 billion has been allocated for development assistance.
