COLOMBO (News 1st); The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to stand with Sri Lanka during one of its most challenging times.
In response to the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah, the U.S. government announced the delivery of critical disaster response items aimed at saving lives and supporting recovery efforts.
According to the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, the assistance package includes shelter materials, emergency communications equipment, water sanitation systems, health supplies, and humanitarian relief essentials.
These resources are expected to play a vital role in stabilizing affected communities and preventing secondary crises such as disease outbreaks.
This gesture of solidarity comes as Sri Lanka continues to grapple with flooding and infrastructure damage triggered by the cyclone, which swept across the island, leaving a train of destruction.
