BIA Urges Passengers to Use Expressway for Safe Travel

COLOMBO (News 1st); Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) has issued an urgent travel advisory for passengers departing today, 30th November 2025, as severe flooding continues to affect multiple access roads across the country.

Airport authorities strongly recommend using the Colombo–Katunayake Expressway for a safer and smoother journey to the airport. This measure aims to minimize delays and ensure passenger safety during the ongoing adverse weather conditions.

To reduce congestion inside the terminal, passengers are also requested not to bring visitors during this period. Despite the challenging circumstances, Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited assures that all efforts are being made to maintain uninterrupted operations.
