COLOMBO (News 1st) - The National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) announced that investigations have been launched to determine whether price-controlled medicines are being sold at their approved maximum retail prices.
According to the Commission, the list of medicines subjected to maximum retail price regulations has now been published on the official NMRA website, www.nmra.gov.lk.
The Authority further stated that the public may lodge complaints through the website if pharmacies are found to be selling these medicines above the regulated prices.
The NMRA recently imposed maximum retail prices on 350 varieties of medicines. Following the implementation of these price controls, the prices of several medicines were reduced by up to 40 percent.
