COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan Customs officers have made a major drug bust at Bandaranaike International Airport, arresting a foreign national who allegedly attempted to smuggle cocaine worth approximately Rs. 250 million into the country.
Officials confirmed that the suspect, a Malaysian national arriving from Abu Dhabi, was intercepted during routine checks at the airport’s Customs area.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered around 5 kilograms of cocaine concealed inside tins labeled as chocolate, neatly packed in his hand luggage.
