Husband and Wife Arrested Over Drug Trafficking

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police have arrested a married couple on suspicion of drug trafficking during a raid in the Hunuwala area, following a tip-off received by the Warakapola Police Anti-Corruption Unit.

According to police, the husband was taken into custody with 5 grams of heroin, while subsequent questioning led to the arrest of his wife, who was found with 4 grams of heroin.

After being produced before the court, the husband was remanded, while the wife has been detained for further questioning under court approval.
