Nearly 5 Kg of Heroin Seized in Galle

COLOMBO (News 1st); Nearly five kilograms of heroin were seized by the Police Special Task Force (STF) officers during a raid carried out in Seenigama, Galle.

Police said the operation was conducted based on a tip-off provided by the Army Intelligence Unit, leading to the arrest of three suspects along with the narcotics. 

A large sum of money was also recovered from their possession.

In a separate raid in Elpitiya, police arrested a couple with 42 grams of heroin. 

The suspects, a 42-year-old man and his 34-year-old wife, are residents of Thelwatta, Malavanna.
