Motorcycle Used In Weligama PS Chairman Killing Recovered By CID

COLOMBO (News 1st); The motorcycle believed to have been used by the shooters to flee after the murder of Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Lasantha Wickramasekera has been found.

It was discovered in a forested area along the Buttala–Kataragama Road during an operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Lasantha Wickramasekera was shot dead in his office on the morning of the 22nd of October.

Two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle carried out the shooting and escaped.

During the subsequent operations, nine suspects involved in the murder, including the shooter and the other suspect who accompanied him have been arrested.
