COLOMBO(News 1st): A crown belonging to Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2025, Lihasha Lindsay-White, was safely returned after being accidentally left in a Bangkok taxi over the weekend, highlighting the swift and efficient response of Thailand’s Tourist Police.
The incident occurred on October 19 at approximately 1:48 p.m. near Siam Center Point, Siam Square Soi 3, in Bangkok’s Pathumwan District. Lindsay-White realized she had left her Miss Universe crown and a dark green dress in the taxi and promptly contacted Thailand’s 1155 Tourist Service Center for assistance.
Officers from Tourist Police Division 2, accompanied by an interpreter, met with Lindsay-White at Pathumwan Police Station. Authorities quickly reviewed CCTV footage and identified the taxi’s license plate number.
As the incident occurred on a weekend, police were initially unable to reach the driver due to the taxi cooperative office being closed. However, contact was successfully made the following day. The items were returned on October 20 at the Bangkok South Tourist Police Station.
"Thailand is a safe country with police officers who truly care for tourists," Lindsay-White stated, expressing gratitude for the prompt action taken. She added that she would share the positive experience internationally.
Lihasha Lindsay-White, an alumna of Colombo International School and a 27-year-old entrepreneur, leads her family’s business and operates a charitable foundation. She is currently in Thailand representing Sri Lanka at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, held at Impact Challenger Hall.
