Train Services Along Upcountry Line Disrupted Due to De-railing

COLOMBO (News 1st); Train travel along the Upcountry Railway Line has been restricted up to Rambukkana due to landslides and fallen trees in several areas, including Ihala Kotte, Alagalla, and Balana.

A train traveling from Kandy to Colombo Fort also derailed near the Ihala Kotte railway station. 

The Railway Department stated that removal of the debris and fallen trees has already begun.

Meanwhile, the Colombo-Badulla night mail train has been cancelled.
