Accomplice Of ‘Backhoe Saman’ Arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect believed to have coordinated drug trafficking and contract killings in Sri Lanka on behalf of the underworld figure “Backhoe Saman,” who is currently in remand custody, has been arrested.

The suspect arrested has been identified as the husband of Backhoe Saman’s sister.

Police Special Task Force officers arrested the suspect and handed him over to the Western Province North Crimes Division.

Police said that questioning of the suspect, identified as Kaveesha, has begun under a seven-day detention order.

During the interrogation, police recovered a pistol and a stock of narcotics hidden in Middeniya.
