COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Navy has officially announced preparations for the 12th edition of the Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference, scheduled to be held on 24th and 25th September 2025 at the Wave n' Lake Navy Hall in Welisara.
The announcement was made during a press briefing held at Navy Headquarters on 15 September, chaired by Rear Admiral Damian Fernando, Chief of Staff of the Navy.
This year’s conference will be held under the theme “Maritime Outlook of the Indian Ocean under Changing Dynamics”, focusing on five strategic pillars:
Marine Environment
Maritime Governance
Maritime Economy
Maritime Sustainability
Fostering a Clean Indian Ocean
The event is expected to host Navy Chiefs and maritime professionals from 36 countries, along with representatives from over 14 international organizations, reinforcing its status as a premier global forum for maritime dialogue.
The conference aims to promote regional maritime stability, address evolving security challenges, and navigate the complex geopolitical landscape of the Indian Ocean Region, while reaffirming Sri Lanka’s commitment to secure and stable seas.
