Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who also serves as the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, has emphasized that education and children’s futures should not be used as political tools.
She dismissed false claims circulating that history and aesthetics subjects have been removed under the new education reforms, stressing that such misinformation undermines the reform process.
The Prime Minister made these remarks during a special program held today, aimed at briefing education authorities in the Western Province on the upcoming reforms.
She added that the reforms will be implemented with careful understanding, focusing on nurturing well-rounded, quality individuals.
