Danish Woman Caught Smuggling Rs. 57 Mn Worth of Kush

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 23-year-old Danish woman has been arrested at Katunayake International Airport for attempting to smuggle over 5 kilograms of Kush cannabis, a high-grade narcotic.

The arrest was made during a special operation conducted by the Narcotics Control Division of Sri Lanka Customs. The suspect was apprehended while trying to leave the airport, with the drugs concealed in her luggage.

Authorities estimate the street value of the seized cannabis to be approximately Rs. 57 million.

The woman had reportedly arrived in Sri Lanka from Bangkok, Thailand, via Chennai, India.
