Quazi Judge And Court Clerk Arrested For Accepting Bribe

COLOMBO (News 1st); A quazi judge and a court clerk attached to the Kaduruwela Quazi Court have been arrested on bribery charges.

According to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), the suspects were arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 100,000 to deliver a favorable verdict in a divorce case.

They have been taken into custody on charges of soliciting, accepting, and aiding the acceptance of a bribe.

The suspects arrested this morning are scheduled to be produced before the Polonnaruwa Magistrate's Court.
