Rs. 20M Worth of Kerala Cannabis Seized in Wattala

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police have seized a stock of Kerala cannabis valued at over Rs. 20 million from a residence in Palliyawatta, Wattala.

Acting on a tip-off, officers recovered 39.75 kilograms of Kerala cannabis during the raid and arrested six suspects at the scene. 

Among those detained is a police sergeant driver attached to the building division of Police Headquarters.

Following their arrest, four suspects were produced before the Welisara Magistrate’s Court and remanded until July 2, 2025. The remaining two individuals are being held for further questioning.
