Parliament to meet tomorrow for special session on fiscal strategy

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A special session of Parliament will be held tomorrow from 9:30 a.m., following a request made by the Prime Minister under Standing Order 16.

As per Section 11 of the Public Finance Management Act No. 44 of 2024, the government is required to present a fiscal strategy statement on or before June 30 each year.

An adjournment debate on the matter, brought by the government, will take place during the session and will continue until 4:30 p.m.

Parliament is scheduled to reconvene on the 8, 9, and 11 of July thereafter.
