Criminal ‘Chutta’ Has Millions in Assets Frozen

COLOMBO (News 1st); Authorities have taken steps to freeze several assets belonging to Porawakara Arachchilage Pramesh, also known as “Chutta”, who is alleged to be an organized criminal figure.

The action follows an investigation conducted by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division, which uncovered evidence of unlawfully acquired wealth.

According to police, the suspect is believed to have amassed significant assets through illegal activities, including trafficking Kerala cannabis, crystal meth (ICE), and involvement in treasure hunting. These findings emerged during an inquiry initiated by a petition from the Rajanganaya Community Police Committee.

Police further stated that the suspect has been arrested on multiple occasions in connection with various offenses and is currently facing ongoing legal proceedings.

As a result of the investigation, authorities have frozen a motor vehicle valued at Rs 12 million and a plot of land in the Kimbula Mankada area of Rajanganaya worth Rs 8 million, both registered under Chutta’s name.

He is scheduled to be produced before the Thambuttegama Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
