Court Orders Arrest of Former IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Matara Magistrate's Court has issued an order for the arrest of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon.

This order is in connection with the investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on December 31, 2023, in front of a hotel in the Palana area of Matara.

The court has also ordered the arrest of five other suspects, including Anselm de Silva, the Officer-in-Charge of the Colombo Crimes Division.

The suspects are being charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
