Dept. of Immigration and Emigration Begins 24-Hour Operations

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs says that the Department of Immigration and Emigration has taken steps to remain open 24 hours a day.

This decision came into effect from last night.

Minister Ananda Wijepala says that accordingly, measures are being taken to issue 4,000 passports daily.

The Minister also says that a night bus service will begin today, traveling from Colombo Fort to Battaramulla.
