Horana Factory Fire: Two Firefighters Injured, One Building Destroyed

COLOMBO (News 1st); A fire that broke out at a factory in the Horana Investment Zone has been successfully contained. 

The Horana Municipal Council Fire Brigade reported that the blaze occurred at a factory producing cinnamon oil and fragrances.

Two firefighters sustained injuries while battling the fire and have been admitted to Horana Hospital. 

Additionally, a factory worker was hospitalized due to respiratory difficulties.

The fire, which started around 4:30 PM yesterday, was brought under control by approximately 2:00 AM today.

The Horana Fire Brigade utilized around 10 fire engines to contain the blaze.

Three buildings of the factory were damaged, with one building completely destroyed.
